Special Olympics

We support our local Special Olympics Eastbourne team.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with learning disabilities, from low motor abilities to highly-skilled athletes.

Eastbourne is one of 100 teams in England, Scotland and Wales. There are currently 22 athletes in our local team, ranging from just eight years old to 35 and they train and compete in football and athletics with the support of volunteers and qualified coach, Geoff Martindale. Competitions take place around ten times per year and see the team travel throughout the South as far as Bournemouth and up to North London.
